Yokoi is a normal high school girl who happens to be the seat neighbour of Seki-kun. Everyday, instead of paying attention in class, Seki-kun does myriad of random things: from shogi, fossil digging, to mecha modeling. What's more, he manages to do them all without attracting the teacher's attention!!
Characters
Yokoi
Seki-kun's seat neighbour. Although initially finding Seki-kun's behaviour a nuisance, Yokoi can't get her eyes away from his bizarre activities and sometimes interfere with his rather sadistic (?) imagination. As a result, she now doesn't pay attention in class either xD
Seki
The titular character. A boy with great imagination, creativity, and a lot of time (??) in his hands. He never pays attention in class, and instead busy with random things. He is very serious in the things he does and puts great amount of details in his works, which fascinates Yokoi. He never speaks in the series and instead, "communicates" with Yokoi through expression.
What I Like:
- Seki-kun's activities. He never runs out of idea of bizarre stuffs to do.
- Yokoi's interpretation of Seki-kun's activities. Even a mere shogi game (?) becomes an interesting story with Yokoi's interpretation xD
- Seki-kun and Yokoi's "communication" without using words xDD
What I Don't Like:
- Once you get the "pattern" of the chapters, the story can be a bit monotonous.
This manga reminds me of when I was a student. I used to sit in the very back of the class and didn't pay attention to classes. Instead, I wrote stories, made parodies of stuffs... just random. Reading this manga makes me feel nostalgic xDD And I understand Seki-kun so I can't get mad at him for not paying attention. The things he does to kill time are incredible xDD
