Today I wanted to do something different, so I went to a certain manga site and clicked a random manga.. and I got this one. My first impression upon seeing the cover was "uwahh so bright and colorful!!" lol. Anyway I went ahead and started reading...
The story takes place in Meiji era Japan. Yamada Kojiro, a law enforcement officer, was investigating recent murders when he met Yoshiwara Shiro, a sloppy umbrella seller. The odd pair find themselves getting involved in various bizarre cases happening in their town and solving them.
Characters
Yamada Kojiro
A law enforcement officer, he has strong sense of morality and justice. He can't stand sloppy people, and that's why he's very determined to make Shiro leave his sloppy lifestyle. He has a younger sister named Aguri.
Yoshiwara Shiro
A mysterious umbrella seller. He is very sloppy and unable to take care of himself. He doesn't like wearing underwear, much to Kojiro's annoyance.
A few chapters into the manga, I was like... "are you sure this isn't shounen ai???" Well, maybe not enough to be called shounen ai, but certainly there are a lot of fujoshi fanservice in this manga, usually involving Kojiro and Shiro. The fanservice level is like a certain swimming anime :P if not more xD I won't be surprised if this turns into shounen ai later on, lol.
What I Like:
- I like the artwork. The mangaka pays a lot of attention to small details, and that's what makes it stands out.
- Fanservice is welcome (y)
What I Don't Like:
- Shiro is too thin :o
- The story can be bizarre and eh o.O sometimes
