amatsuki - Takayama Shinobu

Due to failing history subject, Rikugou Tokidoki (Toki), along with Shinonome Kon and a few others had to go for a field trip to a high-tech Edo history museum, where one can experience Edo era life through virtual simulation. However, when the museum was closing and he was about to leave, he suddenly saw a strange creature, and became unable to leave the virtual Edo world, while losing sight in one eye. 

There, again he met Kon, who was also stuck to the same world while losing function in his one arm. Kon had been living in that place for  two years before meeting Toki again. The world is inhabited both by humans and ayakashis (spiritual beings), and the fate of every being there is controlled by something called "Heaven's Net". What is that place and how can Toki and Kon find a way out?

Characters

Rikugou Tokidoki (Toki)

Main character of the series. He got transported to the world of Amatsuki, losing the sight in one eye in the process. As his fate is not connected to the "Heaven's Net" yet, he has the power of "The Blank Page" and can go against Heaven's Net's predetermined "fate".

Shinonome Kon (Kon)

Another student who got transported to Amatsuki two years before Toki's arrival, losing the sensation in one arm. Having living there for some time already, he got used to the world and the daily life there, and acts as Toki's mentor.

Bonten

A powerful ayakashi who can read Heaven's Net, and one of the four Holy Ones. His mentor was the great ayakashi, Byakuroku. He used to be on close term with Ginshu, but it changed after an accident prior to Toki's arrival.

Ginshu

Also called "Princess", he is the priestess of the Holy Sakagami Shrine and also one of the four Holy Ones. He is said to be cursed by the demon Byakuroku, and as a result his body rots everyday and there are scales on his skin.

The Heaven controls everything that happens in Amatsuki. It can alter people's memories, replacing someone with another person. The only one who can resist the power of the Heaven is Toki, who is "the Blank Page". Bonten, who can read Heaven's Net, had successfully manipulated the Heaven's Net in a desperate attempt to save the people he care about, but with a high price.

As the series progress, you will find out that Toki and Kon are not the only ones who got transported to Amatsuki from the real world. It is also revealed that Sensai Corporation, the company which made the virtual Edo museum, also has something to do with Amatsuki.

What I Like:

• I like the art and character design. Well, this is a josei manga so it's no wonder everyone is good looking xD
• Toki's growth as a character.
• So many mysteries: about Amatsuki itself, Sensai Corporation, and Toki's role in all these.

What I Don't Like:

• The Sensai Corp arc is introduced suddenly and I was like, what is this, where are Toki and co.? o.O and it's a long arc so we don't get to see main characters for several chapters :(

The manga is currently reaching its climax and I can't wait to read its conclusion :D
